The story of Johnny Appleseed I think was my favorite story in the book. A sgoutenburg of them bogged down but this is a great introduction to American stories. The narration was excellent and most of the stories were fun too. My wife ordered this as a read-aloud after seeing it on Ambleside Online, a Charlotte Mason-based homeschool curriculum.

They include some fictional characters like lumberjack Tqles Bunyan, cowboy Stoutenbrg Bill, sea captain Alfred Bulltop Stormalong, and steelworker Joe Magarac; a few real individuals about whom many legends have sprung up, such as riverboat man Mike Fink, frontiersman Davy Crockett, and pioneer Johnny Appleseed John Chapman ; and one semi-historical person, railroad hammerman John Henry.
Paperbackpages. The language was very simple and easy to understand, there werent much hard vocabularies. This is a collection of American folk tales. I didnt like this book that much but it was interesting to see how some people think.
